If we get enough interest, we'll start summer play in a park in 2005, probably somewhere central to the area like Letchworth or Baldock. The times and dates and places will posted in this first post below. You're welcome to add your comments about what times and places would suit you best. My thoughts are Wednesdays 7 till dusk (we have some glow in the dark volleyballs ;D ) with probably a drink in a local bar after for those that want to. If we don't get enough interest then we won't play, but we have had 4 people interested in one week of being on the web and if they all came we could at least do 2 v 2 beach style, so my guess is we'll be playing Tell your volleyball friends in the area to post here! Complete beginners are welcome too. Watch this space for details.

No problem for complete beginners. We'll be able to give you some basic training on how to dig and set the ball as well as basic rules and things, so whatever level you are come along If we have mostly new players we'll probably start with a few games of volleying back and forth over the net before we introduce hitting, blocking and that kind of stuff. We'll only be playing friendly games anyway so there's no pressure to have any experience. To play you'll just need trainers + sports kit of some description. Knee pads are a useful extra if you can get hold of them. (By the way, register or send me an email so I'll be able to keep you updated)

OK I sent an email to those people who registered or gave me their email: Summer is nearly here (kind of!) so we'll be meeting on Thursday 12th May at 7.00pm at West Avenue Park Tennis Courts, Baldock. Meet at the place where the fence of the tennis court is next to the grass of the park. We'll probably be hitting a volleyball around so you know where we are, or use the mobile number below. Come prepared for a game (we have net, court marker, and balls) (The First session was originally on Wed 4th, but as we have limited numbers at the moment, there weren't enough people for a game. If anyone wants to still come on that day, you can email me or phone) West Avenue Park is off West Avenue. As you come into Baldock from the west on the A505, go under the A1(m) bridge and in 300m you will see Weston Way on your right. Don't turn down Weston way, but go staight and in 50m take first left Norton Way and then first left again, West Avenue. The tennis courts and parking are shortly on your left. If you are coming from Baldock Centre from the east on the A505, then Norton Way is 300m from the town centre on the right. If you pass Weston Way on your left or go under the A1(m) bridge you've gone past the turning. Please email me back to say if you are coming or not. You can always ring the mobile below on the day if you get delayed or can't find it. Don't worry if it is raining. It's a good chance to meet up and we will ajourn to the nearby pub to discuss what we'll be doing over the summer and other places to play etc. Look forward to seeing you. Hi
Well I though I would make a post to let you know I'm still around and playing volleyball indoors with Welwyn and Harriers this winter.
We will be playing in North Herts come spring 2006 I hope. Sorry we can't play indoors in the winter, but I don't think we have the numbers to justify the hire of a hall. Maybe next winter 2006/7!
